Self Introduction

To introduce yourself, you can follow pattern below.

 - こんにちわ (konnichiwa) *** you can say a different greeting, see lesson "greetings".

 - はじめまして (hajimemashite) *** how do you do? or how are you?

 - わたしは NAMEです　(watashiha anjerinです）*** I am "name"

 - どうぞ　よろしく(douzo yoroshiku) *** please take care of me / please be good to me

 - どうぞ　よろしく　おねがいします (douzo yoroshiku onegaishimasu) *** more polite form of the above statement.

Introducing a friend

 - This is Ms. Marie
   こちら   は　マリーさん　です。          
　 (kochira ha   mari san   desu.

   She is a Filipino.                          
   フィリピン じん です。           　
　  Firipin   jin  desu.          

   She is a student.   
   がくせいさん　です。  
   gakuseisan    desu.


- This is Mr. Tanaka
  こちら　は  たなかさん　です。
  kochira ha  tanakasan   desu.

  He is a Japanese.
  にほんじん　です。
  nihon jin   desu.

  He is an engineer.
  エンジニア です。
  enjinia    desu.


Asking for personal information.

 - name : おなまえは。(onamaeha.)
 - country: おくには。(okuniha.)
 - occupation: おしごとは。(oshigotoha.)


When か (ka) character is added to a sentence, it then becomes a question. However, for short questions such as above examples, it is not necessary to add か after. To relate it to english:

おなまえは。(onamaeha.)                               = Name?
おなまえはなですか。(onamaeha nandesuka.)     = What is your name?

- いしゃ isha / おいしゃさん oishasan (doctor [insider / outsider])
- がくせい gakusei / がくせいさん gakuseisan (student [insider / outsider])
- かいしゃいん kaishain (office worker)
- しゅふ shufu (housewife)
- エンジニア enjinia (engineer)
